Control you'd like to have?

The main idea of Bildy is, that you can create your own editor UI by dropping in the controls you want. Controls can be pretty much any kind of UI element (or combination of them) that manipulate data.

The engine got a great boost in the beginning of the year, enabling us and you to create even wider range of controls. We've been now focusing on developing new controls (Value pairs is a great example http://www.thebildy.com/community/extension-center/controls/fi-aisti-valuepairs ) and making the current ones even better.

My question is: what kind of control would you like to have? How would you like to edit and what information? Your ideas are welcome!

Something that would allow comments on articles or posts. E-commerce would be great too.

I have hear lot of my clients that mootools-textfield-editor isn't so good. At least easy tools for adding images and links without handwriting url would be nice. (Just noticed there is FCKeditor which i haven't test yet).

We started with FCKEditor. While it had loads of features, it turned out to be really heavy. So we went with MooEditable.

But we're noticing the same. MooEditable has a promise, but it still needs loads of developement. We're now preparing to ship CKEditor as the main rich text editor. They've rewritten the old FCK code with great results. I'll let you know when you can download it.

Shawn:
To add commenting (or a discussion forum like this), you basically need to create a "comment" data model where you add controls for all the fields you want (maybe just one for "comment" is enough). To show comments on a page, you can use <b:get >
http://thebildy.com/help/documentation/template-development/b-tags/b-get
and narrow the query to find only comments that are under the current page. And lastly, to create commenting forms, you can use <b:form > tag
http://thebildy.com/help/documentation/template-development/b-tags/b-form

Yes, I know. That's a lot of stuff packed together. I'll soon try to create a video for you to demonstrate all this.

Like said Shawn Sears it will be great to have some simple control for commenting that will automatically creates child documents, but it's not that hard to make it with data-models.

Would be nice to see some rating control and good tutorial about making a log in system and managing users.

Thanks,

Ignaty Nikulin.
