First impressions
Hello and welcome to Bildy! I'm Antti Kumpulainen from Aisti and I'm at your service in technical questions about Bildy.
I'd like to hear your first impressions about Bildy. What you like, what you don't like or anything that is on your mind.
Also let us know if there's anything that you feel that is missing that would clear your thoughts about what Bildy is or what you could use Bildy for.
I hope you all have as much fun using Bildy as I've had creating it!

My first impression was awe. Easy and smooth installation and everything. After logging in I was a bit lost though - what next? I think some hints in the interface would be a good idea to help getting started. Anyway, I figured out how to build a data model (cool!), created a page and a simple template to go with it. What then, though? How do I view stuff? What's the address of a page after it's been created? A lot of it can be figured out (kudos for that). The crucial bits seem to be missing from the documentation (Template '' not found). |

Always great to hear.
We realize that the "blank slate" state is a bit confusing now, especially when you use Bildy for the first time. We're currently working on providing direction in the UI when things are new. These updates should roll out in the near future.
We did some updates on our site yesterday and things didn't exactly go as planned. There was an hour or so when the site was totally down. Everything is humming again, so please take an other stab at the documentation. Be sure to tell us if there's something missing. |

I would suggest either copying the user/group of the install php file, or not creating all your files with low permissions.
I had to email my host to get the permissions changed to be able to move the files. Could not even chmod them because it was so locked down. |

Thanks for the feedback Louis. We are working to get Bildy to work with as many server configurations as possible. |

I have great news concerning this long lived issue. Bildy now respects different server configurations and adapts to the lowest possible usable file permissions during installation. |

Say I have a catalog of news articles, blog items or such? There is no search or filtering in the Bildy content management interface. How do I handle larger amounts of content? |

Mikael: That's a valid question and we have also considered this. We will implement search functionality and add other UI improvements that will make it more comfortable to handle larger amount of data. You'll hear more about this later. |
