Installation problem - Waiting for response took too long. Aborting install.

I managed to get this warning too. Happened for me while I was trying to install Bildy on my own server.

In my case a reason was obvious, my server was offline and due that the Bildy installer couldn't get data from Bildy servers.

I don't know what's your case, but hopefully this helps someone :)

This problem was not an issue in Bildy, but if someone encounters this same error message it could be a problem with PHP configuration.

Other possible problems that might lead to this error is very slow connection of the server, or a server that has a limited connection to the Internet.

Error «Waiting for response took too long. Aborting install.» throws when you try to install Bildy on localhost. Run your web server on localhost, but install Bildy to your IP.

Wrong:
http://localhost/installer.php

Good:
http://{your.real.ip.address}/installer.php

If you are setting server on your own pc with dynamic IP. Check your IP example from http://www.whatsmyip.org/. Remember re-configure NAT and other settings from firewall/switch if you are using one.

Btw. there could be some small instructions for installing bildy to MAMP and other local environments.

I encourage everyone reading this thread having similar problems to contact support@thebildy.com directly since the response time is a lot quicker that way. Sometimes we are so busy creating new stuff that we forget to check the forums since there is still not so much traffic around here.

yup dude the same problame was with me....but i get the idea from a friend to start your pc in safe mode first delt the asps file and then re instal. best v luck
